Professor and Chairman of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department in Brussels University Hospital
Brussels, Belgium.

He was born in Syria. He was graduated from medical school of Damascus University.

He did his training in general and plastic surgery in Brussels, Glasgow and Atlanta. He had worked as professor in Gent University for 10 years.

Since 2010, he is the head of department of plastic and reconstructive surgery in free university of Brussels (VUB).

He is also a consultant AND THE CHAIRMAN OF THE INTERHOSPITAL network of plastic surgery between UZB -CHIREC private hospitals.

Prof. Hamdi is an international speaker and organizer of many meetings and courses in breast surgery.

His major expertise is breast reconstruction mainly with perforator flaps, however, he has also contributed to many chapters of aesthetic breast surgery. He is the editor of more than 7 books.

He is former president of the Royal Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery (RBSPS) and a member of the Belgian Board of Plastic Surgery but he is an expert member of the high council of Ministry of health (MoH) in Belgium. 

In addition, he is an honorary member in Australian, Colombian and Syrian societies and He is also active member in many international societies such as EURAPS, ISAPS, ASPS and ASRM and WSRM.
